Austria Vienna has extended the contract with backup goalkeeper Mirko Kos for two more years until 2028. The 29-year-old Styrian has been playing for the "Veilchen" since 2012. "Mirko has been part of our team for many years, enjoys a high reputation within the team and takes on an important role model for our young players with his professional approach", says sports director Tomas Zorn. "He is a reliable number two in our goalkeeper team and has already proven several times that he is always ready to step in when needed", says Zorn. For the first team, Kos has played 16 official games, ten of which in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. For the Young Violets, the 29-year-old has played a total of 96 games between the posts. Kos on his extension: "I am very happy to continue being part of Austria Vienna. I have spent a large part of my life with this club – Austria is like a family to me. It is my heart club, which has supported me in all phases of my career and has already given me a great opportunity in the academy." He is looking forward to the next two years, the team is great. "What makes Austria special for me is the cohesion with our fans. I appreciate the way we interact with each other here. The support at our home games is always exceptional and has developed enormously over the past few years."
